Welcome To My Waukesha County Clerks Website!

Welcome to the Waukesha County Clerk's Area.

The Waukesha County Clerk's office is a State Constitutional office, with the clerk being elected by the people of Waukesha County. No qualifications are necessary, but let's just say I'm a member in good standing of the Waukesha GOP, and they support me. Thank you for your support!

Although I can't campaign here, I can certainly thank you, the tax payer, for the nice vacation benefits and the health care package.

The function of the clerk's office can be broken down into three major areas; Election Administration (including all counting, tallying, scotch-taping, and spreadsheet macro creation, and testing of voting machines, really we did), Legislative Support & Administrative Services, Licensing and Elections.

Within these three areas, the office is responsible for all the records as required by the state statutes and is clerk to the county board. For elections, the Clerk's office prepares and distributes the ballots and supplies, programs election equipment, works with municipalities on voter registration and training, receives and tabulates unofficial elections results and runs the board of canvass for all county, state and federal offices in Waukesha County. The office also distributes marriage licenses, works with municipalities on dog licenses and is a US Passport acceptance agency.

We also provide technical support for Windows 98 and old Novell servers and can help you with any Excel macros.

If you are a County employee and you need more Scotch tape, it's in the supply closet, the second door past the bathroom.

I am delighted that you have taken time to look at our site and hope that you find it useful today and in the future.

Thank you,

Kathy Nickolaus

Some of us here think you might need one, though.

April 2011: I am elected official. I will serve the remainder of my term. I understand why people are upset and I am taking this matter seriously. Again, I am sorry for my mistake.

Update: 7/15/11. Again, I understand why people are upset.

Update 4/3/2012: Again, pretty much the same thing,
but all the primary election results are out, so get off my back!

Update June 4, 2012: In regards to this Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel story, and this Salon story, I just have to say that I've had it up to "here" with this controversy. I'm in control over here! I'm not stepping down, and besides, my family needs the health insurance, and I made a promise to the WisGOP that I intend to keep. Stop banging on my office door!

Update July 9, 2012: You can't say that I'm not a gal in the news! As for this Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel story, I need to remind everyone, including the so-called "new media", that it could've been much cheaper if they'd just let me do it.

This is an electronic record that you are now aware of this fact.

minutemanerupting volcanoThe clerks office is now online with updated informations to serve you, the public!

If you are looking for election returns, they are in the meeting room next door, printed on what might look like adding machine tape hanging on the walls.

(Marriage License & Passport applications taken up to 15 min before closing)

My statement as of April 12, 2011:
"I have immediately begun the process of reviewing my procedures. I have also asked the Government Accountability Board and the Waukesha County auditor to assist my office in a review and implementation of improved practices and procedures to make sure the process is more transparent and this mistake does not happen again. I will use the remainder of my term to restore the voter's confidence in me."

As of this morning, our internal network is down.
Please bear with us while we respond to your inquiry.
If you have a smart phone, please offer it.
It might help our calculations go more quickly!

If someone tells you not to insert columns in the vote tally spreadsheet,
then do not add columns to the vote tally spreadsheet! It's an asimple as that.
